The study will collect demographic data about fifteen hundred students, who will have to pass language tests in Canada, China and Taiwan. It will also gathered information on the motivating factors that take into account the degree of anxiety before the test, their perceptions, etc. Preliminary research has found that 17% of the errors in the written test in English for professional use is associated with emotion or misconceptions. Accordingly, a lower score on the test may be the reason that a foreign student will not be training at a Canadian university or has received permission to immigrate.
