Not difficult to see that the current situation in Canada in innovation in general reflects the general trends in the development of the Group of Seven West. Occupying the seventh place in terms of economic development, according to such criteria of innovation in Canada generally has the fifth-sixth place. Relatively low level of innovation in the leading industrial stransvyazyvaetsya in Canada with the general state of the Canadian economy and social sphere, some comparative estimates are given in Table 3. And indicative of the fact that the level of competitiveness of the Canadian economy is estimated by the World Economic Forum only 11th place in the ranking of this international organization. Another reason is seen in the relatively low level of commercialization of product innovations in Canada. For example, in Canada's manufacturing innovation in the services or products of almost every company it appears on average three years, but only 27% of company's sales due to recent innovations, while, for example, in Germany, this level reaches 48%.
