In the face of the tangled intricacies that fill the pages of the Immigration Act and the Immigration Regulations, an introductory text will not only contain gaps but must also rely at times on broad generalization. It constantly risks falling into a gulf of inaccuracy and error by attempting to fit a body of rules of behemoth proportions into a cage of small dimension.
