Prime Minister Stephen Harper arrived with a five-day visit to China. Immediately upon arrival in Beijing on Dec. 2, he told reporters that during his visit will adhere to the basic concepts of human rights and that these issues Ottawa's position in relation to Beijing has not changed.
At 15 o'clock on December 2, Stephen Harper arrived at Beijing international airport. This is his first official visit to China as prime minister. Many media called this visit "tour, which pierced the ice. The fact that Harper has repeatedly publicly criticized the communist government of China for grave human rights violations.
Canadian CBC radio reported that immediately after arrival in Beijing Canadian Prime told that his position on human rights has not changed. In the very first year of his premiership, he explicitly declared that would not sacrifice human rights for "all-powerful money".
"The Canadian concept of values [human rights] is our main part of it. We exist on this basis. These values have brought our society to prosperity, peace and diversity. Therefore we will never doubt them ", - quotes the words of Harper CBC.
