The world day of the immigrant is marked annually on the third Sunday of November at the initiative of national episcopal conferences.
According to the International organization on migration, in the world is about 200 million migrants that makes approximately 3 % of the population of the Earth.
Every fifth migrant for today lives in the USA. Nevertheless third of migrants leave in developing countries. According to the United Nations, about 34 % of all immigrants live in Europe, 23 % - in the North America, 28 % - to Asia, 9 % - in Africa and on three percent - in the countries of Latin America and Ocenia.
In some countries migrants make rather considerable part of the population: in Kuwait - to 50 %, in Australia - 25 %, in Canada - 19 %.
Almost half of all migrants in the world - women, and in the developed countries of women-migrants more than men.
