the immigration media and assistance society www.canadaone.org has expressed concern over the increasing number of unregistered agents, especially in connection with the growth rate of immigration of Haitians linked to the recent earthquake. According to the society of immigration consultants, existing laws do not allow the police to address fraud, and consultants urge the government to enact new laws.
